Ministry set to host International Wellness Tourism Conference 2022

The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry will organize the 2022 International Wellness Tourism Conference and Festival to maintain the 2022 G20 presidency agendas of Indonesia for intensifying the global health architecture.

The theme of the event – Sustainable Strategy for the Recovery and Growth of Global Tourism through Wellness Tourism. It is proposed to be arranged between on August 5-7 in Surakarta City in Central Java Province with the aim to showcase Indonesia as a wellness tourism destination to the world.

On Wednesday, at the time of the weekly press briefing, Mr. Sandiaga Uno, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, pulled the attention to major increase in wellness tourism, bearing in mind that numerous people were eager to become healthier in the middle of pandemic.

In the meantime, Surakarta City is picked to arrange the event, as it adhered to the concept of The City of Java Wellness Tourism, he noted.

The ministry at the event will bring to the forefront different wellness products alienated into eight categories. It’s made by local 24 micro and players of small and medium enterprises with the idea of a wellness village, along with 30 non-small and medium enterprise industries.

The categories comprise nutrition, healthy eating, and weight loss, healthy eating, physical activities, wellness tourism, traditional and corresponding medicine, public health, prevention and personalized medicine, wellness real estate, along with mental health.
