For fortifying trade and tourism ties between India and China, the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recently took part in the China International Travel Mart, a 3 day event held from 15th to 17th November, 2019 at Kunming, China.
Inaugurated by Rupinder Brar, Additional Director, Ministry of Tourism, Dipak Haksar, Chief Executive, ITC hotels and other members on 15th November, 2019, the aim of the Indian pavilion at CITM was to prop up India’s diverse tourism products and services including the Buddhist circuit.
CITM is one of the largest travel shows in India, offering pioneering ideas and concepts for travel within Asia. The three day event brought together tour operators and agents from both sides, providing them with a platform for initiating an interaction. The event was geared towards building stronger tourist circuits between India and China. The Indian Pavilion at CITM 2019 showcased the Indian heritage through classical dance performances and yoga. A delegation of 35 members comprising key players from the Indian tourism industry including Hoteliers, travel agents, airlines and railway agents visited CITM.
Besides Kunming, CITM was held in two other Chinese cities like Chengdu and Chongqing between 12th and 14th November, 2019.
