The severe heatwave is likely to finally end with the upcoming storm on Monday. About 50 million people are at risk from the storm. Record-breaking heat has surged in areas around Boston. The temperature in Boston broke to 99 degrees F. Experts have stated that ‘extremely opposite’ winds are likely to hit the area. There are at least two heat-related deaths in Boston in the last two weeks.

Monday’s storm is likely to cool off the temperature suddenly but that still will be a tough time for the citizens as the storm is not going to be a soft one.

Providence (96 degrees) and Philadelphia (99 degrees) also set heat records Sunday, the National Weather Service said. The storm is likely to bring an end to a scorching heat wave in the region. But it will come with a threat of extremely damaging wind. There are also possibilities for a tornado to strike on Monday.

Senior meteorologist Matt Rinde stated that like previous days, the severe storm is likely to bring cold weather, moist air and strong jets of streams. He also stated that it looks like the storm is going to hit the Northeast which is likely to hit up to Washington D.C. It can even stretch up to Maine.

Meanwhile, the persistent, sizzling heat in the south-central U.S. will last a few more days, and a heat wave will build across the northwestern U.S., the National Weather Service said.

The record for the highest temperature is likely to be surpassed on Tuesday in Northern California. The metro areas of Seattle and Portland are also likely to be affected.

However, the heatwave is not likely to be as high as the one in 2021. That one has killed nearly 1000 people in U.S Pacific Northwest and in western Canada. All time highest records have been recorded in British Columbia, Washington and Oregon. Some regions have even experienced temperatures higher than 120 degrees.
