Morni Hills to develop as tourism hub

Haryana Chief Minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar examined various adventure sports in Morni and inaugurated a wellness center in Thapli on Sunday. The CM also drove a jet scooter and rode a hot air balloon.


The Haryana CM said that Morni Hills area would be developed as a tourism hub. Khattar pledged to develop Panchkula in cultural, medical, wildlife and other fields. He also inspected paragliding, hot air balloon, parasailing, power motor, E-Hydrofoil, jet scooter and boating activities.


Khattar said that till now, residents had to go to Manali and other distant areas to enjoy adventure sports, but Haryana Tourism department would provide these facilities in Morni Hills. Adventure sports facilities in the area would not only attract tourists but also help local residents make money from tourism.


Khattar said that the Paragliding Club in Morni would be named “Flying Sikh Milkha Singh Club” after the legendary Milkha Singh.


A tourist information center would be set up Panchkula for facilitating tourists. A facility for tourists to stay at night in Panchkula is also being planned. Five special buses and nine trekking routes would be provided for visiting Panchkula city, and a two-day trekking route is being prepared with night stay facility in Morni area.


The CM said that these places will be opened for tourists in September.
