Aimed at developing and promoting sustainable tourism ecosystem in Goa, Department of Tourism, Government of Goa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbnb. The MoU will jointly promote Goa as one of the most sought-after tourism destinations in India and abroad.
The MoU was signed between Goan Minister of Tourism, Shri Rohan Khaunte, and Amanpreet Bajaj, General Manager, Airbnb India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
As per the MoU, lesser known but unique destinations in the state will be marketed and made known to inbound domestic and international tourists. Promoting Goan homestays is also one of the agendas in the MoU. These homestays will boost the potential of tourism to create jobs and sustainable livelihood for the local communities. For this, knowledge sharing and training workshops are in the pipeline.
Also, more than 20 specially curated unique Airbnb Experiences hosted by local experts is on the offer which will make Goan gastronomy, culture and musical traditions the focus point among tourists.
