MoU signed between ICDT and ATO for tourism improvement

H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, who is the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, who is the President of the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO), witnessed the inking of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving the Islamic Center for the Development of Trade (ICDT), which is a supplementary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO). The MoU is regarding tourism growth in joint member states.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 11th session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers, in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was inked by Mrs. Latifa Elbouabdellaoui, the Director General of ICDT, and the advisor to the ATO President, Dr. Ahmed Abou Amer.

The MoU aims toward upholding joint activities that would improve tourism in joint member states and encourage collaboration among the two organizations.


The signing event was also graced by Dr. Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo, who is the OIC Assistant Secretary for Economic Affairs, and Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al- Suhaibani, who is Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to OIC, on behalf of the host country of both the OIC and ATO.
