The President of Indian Association of Tour Operators, Mr. Rajiv Mehra, has recently appealed to all its members and all the tourism professionals to get them registered for Covid-19 for vaccination.
Mr. Mehra while suggesting the members and others, he emphasized that it’s crucial for all tourism and hospitality industry people to get vaccinated at the earliest. Once the vaccination process is done, same should be communicated to all the counterparts, foreign tour operators so that it creates confidence amongst them that India’s vaccination programme is going in a nice way and all our staff and the frontline workers i.e., airport representatives, drivers, guides, escorts and tourist felicitators, hotel front office, reception and restaurant staff etc. have got vaccinated.
Also, Mehra stated clearly that this should be communicated to the foreign tour operators so that the moment e-Tourist Visa and international flight operation are resumed; we get to welcome international tourists. It will also encourage them to restart their businesses to India, besides creating confidence amongst the foreign tour operators.
Mehra also says that we know currently there is scarcity in vaccines but everyday one has to try on the e website every to book slot for vaccination as presently slots are being made available only one day prior to the vaccination date.
Nonetheless, each state has their separate policies; we should not give up and try to get our vaccinations scheduled.
Mehra showed his contentment that as per the news, the Covid-19 vaccine production of the country will speed up in the coming months as both Serum Institute of India and Hyderabad’s Bharat Biotech are increasing their monthly production capacity.
