Following huge losses and poor income owing to pandemic outburst, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is discovering new ways of growing income. Under the attempt of recovery, the MSRTC decided to launch ‘Orange City’ tourism bus from January 10. The bus will run from Ganeshpeth stand every Sunday and also on public holidays focussing on the weekend tourism as stated by the divisional controller Nilesh Belsare.

The travel includes several places to explore, namely Suraburdi, Adasha, Khindsi, Ramtek, Dhapewada and Dragon Palace in Kamptee before returning to Nagpur.  The bus is scheduled to leave at 8am and will be back by 7pm on the specific days.

The rates have been also fixed. For adults the tour rate is at Rs.250 per head and for children below 12 years is Rs 130. For the same trip a private taxi on the other hand charges over Rs 3000 and it is linked with the increase and decrease of the diesel price.

This journey includes temple visit or temple tourism and also takes visitors to several religious spots around Maharashtra.  Belsare also added that they are waiting for the policy decision and once approved, soon several other buses will be launched in every district. For example Pune has already started tourist bus services to Asthavinayak.

He further mentioned that Nagpur division is planning a launch of tourism with one night stay at Chikhaldara. Other trips and bus tours are in plan to be launched in time.
