The Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the Muzhapilangad-Dharmadam beach improvement project will prove useful to the tourism sector. The CM spoke during the groundwork stone laying ceremony for the project at Kannur.

The Chief Minister said that Rs. 50 crore has been reserved for the expansion of local tourism centers, and Rs. 20 crore is reserved for providing interest assistance to businesspersons. He opined that 25 tourism hubs would be created in Kerala, and Rs. 1,000-crore finance has been acquired for the improvement of the tourism sector in the state.

Mr. Vijayan said that the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) has played a key role in steering expansion and realizing projects valued at Rs. 62,000 crore by the end of 2016-21.
