Myanmar’s military government to reopen tourism to foreigners early next year

Myanmar’s military government is going ahead to reopen its tourism sector to foreigners early next year, and are thinking to attract visitors from Asia in the midst ofdecliningCovid outbreak although the death toll from political violence continues to rise.


The Myanmar government is making a bet on travel arrangements with countries including Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, said the Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism HtayAung. The recent lifting of a ban on inter-provincial travel and traditional holidays hasprompted some locals to go on vacation, said Aung.
