Travel And Tour World shares an exclusive interview with Naveen Verma, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India.
This is the first time that North East as a region is promoting itself which earlier was done separately for states. The eight states which comprise the North Eastern region has a lot to offer to its tourists from adventure tourism, rafting, history, music, culture and more. A new council has been set up by a private body and the government will offer the best support for the development of the tourism infrastructure.
Rightly called ‘Paradise Unexplored’, the Northeastern states has a lot to offer for all range of tourists including backpackers and high-end leisure tourists. Caving is very popular thing in the northeastern region. Religious tourism is also a scope there. For the young travellers, kayaking, paragliding, rafting, mountain cycling are available. The government is thus planning to make a complete package rather than highlight the existing known places of the states so that the pristine beauty of the region can be explored.
Lack of awareness is possibly the only challenge that is there as connectivity is no more a concern. There are plenty of flights available and also scope of waterway travel.
