The Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait recently conducted an interaction programme called ‘Destination Nepal: Nature, Culture, and Adventure’ with travel agencies, tour operators, and media representatives in Kuwait City in order to provide information about Nepal’s tourism.

The programme was launched by HE Durga Prasad Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Kuwait, his wife Mrs. Bindhya Bhandari, and Khalid Jassim Al Yassin, Minister Plenipotentiary, Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by lighting a lamp in the presence of travel agents, tour operators, media representatives, and Ministry of Information representatives, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, the Nepal envoy provided a detailed picture of Nepal’s major tourism destinations such as Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, and Chitwan, as well as other tourism products and activities covering nature, culture, and adventure activities in the Nepali tourism industry for visitors from all over the world.

Ambassador Bhandari also emphasised the responsibilities that local businesses in the travel sector and the media in Kuwait can play in promoting and marketing Nepal’s tourism in Kuwait, which he said is in the best interests of all Kuwaitis. He indicated his willingness to collaborate closely with travel entrepreneurs and the media fraternity to that aim, emphasising hundreds of times that Nepal would be a most appealing and feasible destination for Kuwaitis in the coming days.

He also stated that citizens of Kuwait have been seeking for a safe, sustainable, and intriguing vacation destination in the neighbouring nations, and that the Nepal embassy in Kuwait as well as the tourism sector in Nepal are ready to meet their needs in this area.

Bhandari said, “The travel agencies in Kuwait can conduct a package tour to Nepal either solely or in partnership with concerned airlines company or with the travel agents, tour operators or hoteliers in Nepal.”

He added, “As tourism can contribute in promoting people to people contact between the two countries, this win-win exercise would open the new avenue to diversify the relations in other areas such as trade, investment, employment, sports among others.”

The link between Nepal and Kuwait through direct flights is the added advantage for the local visitors to travel to Nepal in an easy and comfortable manner, he explained.

He expressed his gratitude to the management of both Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airlines for providing direct flights between Nepal and Kuwait. He was also pleased with Jazeera Airways’ plan to resume direct flights from Kuwait to Nepal’s Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bhairahawa, and Lumbini.

Ambassador Bhandari further stated that the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, is well linked with key cities in the Gulf area (including Kuwait City, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dammam, Muscat, and others) by direct flight connections, allowing guests to travel with ease and comfort. He noted that the Nepalese embassy in Kuwait has been giving visas to travellers in the shortest time feasible and that most countries, including Kuwaitis, may receive visas on arrival at the immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and other entry points as well.

He shed light on international air connectivity saying Nepal also has good network of domestic air and road transportation arrangements linking capital city, Kathmandu, with other major destinations in the country.
