Nepal identifies 2025 as special year for their tourism

At the time of the joint meeting of the federal parliament, Nepal President, Ram Chandra Paudel, declared that in the Bikram Samvat calendar, the decade of the 2080s, would be identified as the Visit Nepal decade. He also said that for tourism, the year 2025 will be recognized as a special year. As part of the programs and policies for the 2080/81 fiscal year, these statements were presented.

The year 2025 has been recognized by Nepal as a ‘Special tourism year’: The Key Points are as follows:

• The Nepal tourism had went through a huge slump because of the pandemic, however is bouncing back slowly.
• The Nepal Tourism Board has put forward recent data which shows that almost one lakh visitors have been coming to the country on a monthly basis since the start of this year. In the first four months of 2023, 3.26 lakh foreign tourists were recorded in Nepal.
• To support the revival of the tourism industry of Nepal even more, the President said that sensible amendments would be made to the laws that are related to tourism.
• Furthermore, tourist destinations in Nepal will be endorsed in foreign community, and essential infrastructure will be set consequently.
• In all seven provinces of Nepal, new destinations will be recognized, and every region will be altered into a cultural village.
