Designed to uphold the city of Zagreb, the platform will assemble about 20 foremost health institutions from diverse areas of medicine. The idea is to encourage Croatian medical tourism on the whole but predominantly to focus on Zagreb.

Health institutions that have already signed up to the platform constitute:

• Agram
• IVF Zagreb
• Akromion
• Avitum
• Bagatin
• Aksis
• Klinika Svjetlost
• Magdalena
• LF Medical
• Poliderma
• Naftalan
• Sinteza

Croatia is witnessing a lot of medical patients from Italy, especially for dental tourism, but the country is apprehensive that it is behind its competitors in Albania, Serbia and Hungary.

Huge amount of currency from Croatia’s recovery and resilience plan are set to lead into the country’s medical and wellness tourism proposal. It is a sector that has a massive prospective of growth.

Funding projects in the tourism segment of Croatia with the help of the National Programme for Recovery and Resilience in the public sector, for which Croatia will have US$132 million, will sustain larger projects, with majority of the funds going to spa, wellness and other health-related tourism projects.

The projects are divided into three groups. The first and most munificent is developing health and wellness tourism.

This includes the building, renovation, restoration and/or betterment of infrastructure, whether it is the lodging facilities or other services.
