New minister discusses preparation for Egypt winter tourism

Ahmed Issa, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities held a wide-ranging meeting with few tourist investors and discussed the preparations for the winter tourism season in for increasing the number of visitors during the impending period.


The minister emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration between the ministry and the private sector to motivate, authorize, and increase tourist numbers, income, and earnings to realize the common goal of upholding the tourism division in Egypt and the society altogether. He said that the tourism industry plays a pivotal part in the nationwide economy.


During the conference, the marketing undertakings listed on the program of the ETPB were studied, which included the introduction of the publicity campaign organized by a Canadian company during the last quarter of this year, concerning the new media approach for tourism promotion in Egypt. Furthermore, the Egyptian ministry will take part in global exhibitions, organize international conferences, and visit international tourism federations.


Additionally, the Egyptian ministry will set a minimum price for lodging in hotel establishments across Egypt by November, as part of Egypt’s plan to elevate the level of facilities provided to tourists, especially concerning the ministry’s re-evaluation of hotel establishments as per the new classification standards.


Minister Issa also paid attention to a number of proposals for encouraging domestic tourism and grow the incoming tourism effort to Egypt during the winter months.
