New RTE Middle East exhibition director predicts steady future for area’s meetings market

Reed-Travel-ExhibitionsThe newly appointed Exhibition Director for Reed Travel Exhibitions Middle East, Danielle Curtis feels that the regional MICE segment holds some exciting opportunities that are about to open up in this region.

 

 

Danielle, who has overall responsibility for IBTM Arabia, Arabian Travel Market and allied projects in the region feel that the meetings and events market in the Middle East is still quite optimistic while with confidence in the region continues to grow, as evidenced by significant upcoming events like the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019. She added that increasing diversification in terms of the scope and scale of meetings and events and new industries is arriving to the Middle East and the region itself is really opening up.

 

 

Curtis also asserted that countries including Saudi Arabia and Oman are also increasingly making their mark on the industry and raising their profile as viable destinations, cementing the region’s position as a highly desirable and competitive offering for the events market. As a result of the dynamic nature of the industry here, many exciting opportunities are on the horizon both for IBTM Arabia and the industry as a whole.

 

 

She expressed their excitement about the future of their events in the region, including for IBTM Arabia, which continues to evolve to meet the needs of their customers, helping them to stay at the forefront of what’s happening in the Middle East by providing valuable business opportunities and inspiring content delivered through the show’s CPD-accredited Knowledge Programme.

 

 

Originally from Australia, Danielle has 15 years’ experience within the events industry including extensive experience working within the IBTM portfolio. She was previously contract Exhibition Manager for Arabian Travel Market, part of Reed Travel Exhibitions, with responsibility for the event strategy of this international travel and tourism exhibition. Prior to this, Danielle was Event Manager for The Hotel Show Dubai and Global Head of Sales for the IBTM portfolio.
