New tourism campaign is expected to attract Kiwis, Americans & Brits!

The head of tourism are working for extra hours to try and attract greater number of vacationers back to the Gold Coast, with our Kiwi neighbors now the aim of an important new advertising campaign.

 

The tourism industry of the city is copping with damage as it fights hard to manage the adverse results of the bushfires and now coronavirus.

 

The State has by now introduced many domestic campaigns to try and attract people to the sunshine state however the latest marketing blitz of Destination Gold Coast is expecting to be our saving grace.

 

On Sunday, the $1.2 million campaign will kick-start and will aim on families and over-50s from New Zealand, which is the second-largest international market of Gold Coast.

 

It will have outdoor signage along with free ads to air TV and social media channels including Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

 

The Kiwi campaign comes as Tourism Australia also gets ready to introduce its own multi-million dollar campaign to pull British and US travelers down under.

 

As per Tourism Australia managing director, Phillipa Harrison, advance bookings in Australia have declined 35 per cent as foreign travel ban carries on growing.

 

In recent past, Prime Minister, Scott Morrison declared South Korea has been added to coronavirus travel ban in Australia which also includes China and Iran.

 

The temporary stop limits foreign nationals who have been in countries like China, Iran and South Korea from entering Australia for 14 days from the time they have transited through the countries.

 

The Australian nationals who are returning will still be permitted to enter the country, but they will have to self-isolate themselves for 14 days.

 

The Gold Coast and Cairns are hoped to get massive highlight on Tourism Australia’s new campaign, which is anticipated to have 1000 billboards across the UK and US.
