The newly appointed board of directors at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority aims to focus on the hospitality offering with the market reopening in the wake of Covid-19.

The move comes after the appointment of Ernest Hilaire as the tourism minister earlier this year.

As per new plans, Saint Lucia will focus on culture, heritage and history.

The new strategy is expected to put the people of Saint Lucia at the front-and-center of the tourism offering.
The public can expect to see more of these components in the marketing plan, and linkages to make sure that the economic benefits of tourism include craftsmen, artisans, farmers and other local establishments.

Appointed by Hilaire, the board of directors encompasses a balanced group of individuals with skill sets in law, entrepreneurship, marketing, hospitality, business management, community development, events and accommodations management.

Under the management of Hilaire, Saint Lucia was recently honored as the Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination by voters at the World Travel Awards, with an uptick in demand for travel to the island.
