As Goa prepares for a new tourism season, exciting activity was witnessed at the world-famous Colva beach on Sunday. Beach shack owners had a busy time making the temporary shacks ready.

The migratory hawkers, even though barred by the Tourism department from running business undertakings on the beach, are gearing up to become a part of the new season for lack of action by the law administering agencies.

Sunday witnessed the Colva beach playing host to an excellent Sunday crowd, with visitors thronging the world-renowned beach.

After the tourism officials permitted building of beach shacks across Goa, the creation of beach shacks was witnessed along the Colva beach belt. Usually, the shacks come alive at the coastal belt prior to the Dussehra festival.

With work regarding the beach shacks in progress in full swing, it might take less than a week for finishing all works of building the shacks before they can become fully operational for the customers.

The Tourism department also cleared the NOCs for the water sports operatives from the South Goa district.

While the tourism stakeholders are preparing for a fruitful season, the tourism department and the law implementation agencies are appearing to be lacking in ideas regarding how to restrain the unlawful migrant vendors on the beach belt. On Sunday, there were packs of migrant hawkers functioning on the beach belt.
