Remarkable illustrations of important tourist spots of the Northeast were showcased at the Indian pavilion at the Salon des Vacances 2023 tourism trade fair. The event was organized from 2nd to 5th February at the Brussels Expo in Belgium.
The Indian pavilion had lively visuals and videos that displayed the intriguing and striking sights from the eight Northeastern Indian states. The Indian pavilion had the theme, ‘Paradise Unexplored’, promoting the exclusive travel experiences of the Northeast.
At the Indian pavilion, there were advertising material and postcards that showed the grandeurs of the eight Northeastern states. This featuring of eight Northeastern states of India is first in a major tourism event in Brussels. This presented interested local visitors with an idea about this part of India, said an embassy release.
Western Europe finds its place among the top three source regions for foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) in India. Approximately, 22 per cent of FTAs came to India from this region in 2021.
At the Indian pavilion, there were exotic visuals of the waterfalls and living root bridges of Meghalaya, along with the wildlife of Kaziranga National Park in Assam. There were visuals of snowy passes in the Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh, regal palaces of Tripura, luxurious green valleys of Nagaland and Mizoram, mountainous hikes in Sikkim and the floating flora and fauna at the famous Loktak Lake in Manipur.
