Thor’s Kingdom that is present in western Norway aims not only to be the largest theme park of Norway, but it also is quite ken to become the ‘Viking capital of the world’, as per the local news media. This theme park would exhibit a series of carousels and roller coasters.
In addition, it would be well-equipped with a generous dosage of entertainment.
This would enable guests to learn about the history of the Viking warriors. Also, the visitors would be able to pamper their taste buds to the likes of the supper preferred by the Vikings and barter like them at the shops around the theme park.
Till date, the developers have stated that the park would be broken up into many different sections and this includes a great castle-fort, forest and a trip through the Norse underworld.
Developers have described the Thor’s Ride as a ‘theme park in Viking costume’.
The park has been in development ever since the year 2014. But then, according to some reports, the opening has been delayed until 2019 or even 2020. This project is still expecting some funding and is hopeful that they would be capable of raising all money prior to the start of summer.
For those who are eager enough to be exposed to the Norwegian Viking culture, the Nordvegen History Centre is nearby.
This museum would transport visitors to the era of the Vikings and portray their lives. It is often known as the ‘Viking Farm’. And is open daily for immersive tours.
