Harry Sommer has been promoted to the position of president, international by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
In the new role Sommer will be responsible for sales, marketing, public relations and office operations for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises in all markets outside the United States and Canada.
Through the newly created executive role the company intends to expand and diversify its global sourcing and distribution.
Sommer will be reporting to Frank Del Rio, the company’s president and chief executive who said that as their company was growing they were looking towards emerging and international markets to further expand their global footprint across their portfolio of award-winning brands.
He was confident that Harry will bring profits and diversify the business globally offering guests best-in-class vacation experience around the world.
Sommer has served the cruise line in different capacities where the most recent one was as executive vice president of international business development, which he assumed in June 2015. He is a 25-year industry veteran.
He had increasing Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ presence worldwide by opening 13 offices globally and the most recent ones include Auckland, New Zealand and Tel Aviv, Israel.
He is also known to have developed the company’s Best Guest strategy which sources the highest yielding guests despite the geographic location.
