Five well-known tourism sites in the eastern province of Nova Scotia will be improved to develop visitor experiences and assist in motivating people to travel there, as per a news release. The provincial government declares that it will spend $6 million in three years as part of its current bid to draw more visitors across the globe.
In 2017, the government declared that its tourism sector had its best year in history in 2016 and its third consecutive year of growth. In all, 2.2 million visitors arrived in the province and that was a growth of eight percent over 2015. For 2016, tourism revenue was calculated to be $2.6 billion. It seeks to boost that to $4 billion by 2024.
The new funding declared that July 25, 2018 will develop the sites at Peggy’s Cove, the Bay of Fundy including Annapolis Royal, the Cabot Trail, the waterfronts at the cities of Halifax and Lunenburg.
