airbnb party ban

Airbnb bans partying in all the listed houses permanently. The ban has been initially implemented in August 2020. It was being continued for a prolonged period. The ban now has been made permanent after seeing a consistent drop in the reports of the parties.

The company stated that the ban has been initiated to prohibit excessive gathering during the pandemic period to stop spread of infections. The company has further stated that they saw a 44% annual drop in the rate of the party reports.

Ben Breit, a spokesperson for the company stated that this is an issue severely difficult to understand and draw a line in. He also stated that the company will work closely with the internal team to make sure nuisance is limited in the future.

The company further said that in 2021 about 6600 guests and some hosts were suspended because they tried to violate the party ban.

However, full occupancy is available for most of the Airbnb listed homes. Earlier there was a 16-person limit which has shortened the company’s revenue as well.

The party ban has begun earlier in Airbnb than the pandemic though. In the year 2019 the ban was implemented on the ‘house parties’. The reason behind this was mostly to limit the neighbourhood nuisance.

During pandemic there were more reasons to ban the issue as the company was working with only 25% people. That has impacted the revenue as well. The year 2022 although saw a 70% increase from the previous years. The company revenue is expected to be between $2.03-$2.13 billion towards the end of 2022.
