Obenne Mbaakanyi, Marketing Manager, Botswana Tourism speaks exclusively with Travel And Tour World at BITM, China.
This was the debut appearance of Botswana Tourism in China. She shared her insight about how Botswana is witnessing China as a travel market. Given the nature and wilderness of the destination, Botswana is one-of-a-kind for Chinese leisure travellers which they don’t get to see very easily in their country. She focussed on the wildlife tourism aspect and how it can be a majestic experience not only for the Chinese travellers but also for any international tourist.
Speaking about the oppurtunities for the MICE and business tourism, Obenne confessed that Botswana is not very well equipped as of now to cater to the world-class MICE travellers but they are looking for scopes to develop into the same.
As Travel And Tour World asked whether she has seen any impact in the travellers’ plans post Brexit and Presidential Election, she said that Botswana is still considered as one of the good places to travel. It is one of the finest choices if you want to experience authentic Africa and there is hardly any parallel to nature tourism when it comes to Botswana.
