With a focus on opportunities for collaboration between Japan and Odisha in tourism and sports, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hosted a round table discussion Saturday in Kyoto.
According to a government release, several travel operators, hotel industry officials from Japan, Japanese sports associations, and sports sector representatives attended the programme.
The Chief Minister emphasised Odisha’s enormous potential as a tourism destination, with a particular emphasis on utilising its rich Buddhist legacy, particularly the cultural sites at Dhauli, Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri, and Udayagiri.
The Chief Minister also discussed the government’s several attempts to promote tourism and develop tourist infrastructure in the state.
He further emphasised Odisha’s substantial progress in the sports industry and stated his desire for engagement with Japanese sports groups and institutions.
