The main task began with collector D. Brunda earmarking the roads that takes us to the dazzling waterfalls at Kuturi, Putudi, and Katramal and develops those in a better way.

With an aim to revitalize tourism, the government of Odisha has taken a decision to set up more eco-retreat camps in the state. Also, in the coming winter, it has decided to introduce a motorcycling festival in the Kandhamal district to draw more tourists, a senior official has revealed.

AK Tripathy, principal advisor to the chief minister and chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC), has state that Kandhamal with its waterfalls, forests, and streams will be turned into an important tourist spot in the coming days, as reported by news agency PTI. On Saturday, Tripathy in his visit to the district said that the Kandhamal district has several natural beauties to explore. And, its hill ranges are part of the great Eastern Ghats. In 2020, an eco-retreat camp that was started at Daringbadi got an encouraging response from the tourists. “More such eco-retreat camps would be arranged this year, too, at attractive locations,” he told reporters.

Tripathy directed Vinit Agrawal, Superintendent of Police, to advertise the district as a motorcycling circuit and to link it with Chandaka near Bhubaneswar as well. He requested Agarwal to create the circuit in coordination with bikers’ clubs in the state and other parts of the country, and start a motorcycling festival in winter.

“There are many excellent roads passing through forests and other beautiful locations which can offer an exciting motorcycling experience to nature lovers,” Tripathy added.
