By 2030, the tourism sector of Saudi Arabia will generate 1 million jobs and the Kingdom will greet about 100 million visitors, explained the CEO of the Saudi Tourism Development Fund, Qusai Al-Fakhri.

In Saudi Arabia, tourism will create one of every three new jobs in the next decade, as the kingdom aims on higher growth of non-oil sectors, said Al-Fakhri. While sharing thoughts about the development of the tourism sector of Saudi Arabia at the Future Hospitality Summit in Riyadh, Fakhri explained that in 2021, with the help of the larger government ecosystem and enablers, Saudi Arabia succeeded in attaining record heights in terms of domestic tourism. Al-Fakhri also observed that by the end of this decade, tourism is expected to contribute 10 percent to the gross domestic product of the Kingdom.

The two-day event was arranged under ‘Reimagined Horizons’ theme. It seeks to talk about hotel development and its future along with destination impact, sustainability, aviation, restaurant investment and human capital.

Series of sessions on topics like the future of hotel asset management, the future of loyalty schemes, transparency and brand loyalty will be covered.

The CEO of the Culinary Arts Commission, Mayada Badr, explained that Saudi Arabia is known for its exclusive food heritage and there is no need to copy anything from any other regions. When it comes to Saudi cuisine, we want to do a lot more.
