Ardabil, a city in northwest Iran, has more than 2,500 traditional dishes and over 100 beverages. However, in cookbooks and related research articles, only 800 of these items have succeeded to make their place and only about 20 to 30 of these are known to others, on Sunday, Ravanbakhsh Nayeb Pashai explained this.
In the local food that’s cooked, there’s immense value in Ardabil province, however, in this Iranian city, food tourism is not that recognized as a new branch, he mentioned.
However, for food tourism, the tourism ministry in the province has been working hard to develop an atlas for the last few years, he noted.
In Ardabil province, food tourism can be developed with the help of tours under the title of participation in traditional food education and classes related to cooking, can be organized in these tours to improve gastronomy, he said.
By making use of this method, tourists can take part in the ground work and purchase of food ingredients that are in rural houses. With this, Ardabil, can describe its new objective and destination for tourism, he stated.
