In the Okanagan, a region in the Canadian province of British Columbia, the long weekend in September is the unofficial end of the summers.

This is due to the fat that tourists have now returned to their home and local attractions have closed down for the winters.

On the tourism sector, the past several years have been really tough because of the travel restrictions caused by the pandemic and wildfire smoke, many owners of business say this season was the best year yet.

Penticton Business Owner, Diana Stirling, said that the weather was amazing and she repeated that it kind of surprised them which were like after two years of floods, smoke, and COVID.

Diana said that they’re immensely grateful that 2022 was as busy as 2021, which was an extraordinary year for all of them.

She also added that they were up this year from pre-pandemic years and therefore it was a great, year all around and all of them were truly thrilled to share.

In Penticton, Stirling owns and operates in various local attractions. It can be found in Lickity Splitz, LocoLanding, Cherry on Top Shake Shop, and is a partner with Coyote Cruises.

Stirling said that they are super excited and are all prepared, thinking about what’s likely for this year and she thinks that there’s this remarkable sense of hopefulness for tourism.

The general manager, Coyote Cruises, Jacob George, echoed that this season was great than what was expected.
