Oman has exempted tourists from the compulsory condition of conducting pre-flight COVID-19 test and pre-arrival quarantine.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman has issued its latest travel update and guidelines for tourists. “Tourists are not required to conduct a PCR test before arriving in Oman. They have to undergo the PCR test on arrival only,” said the ministry in a statement.
The move follows the Sultanate’s decision that permits citizens from 103 countries to enter Oman for a 10-day stay without a pre- entry visa, adhering to the mandatory conditions as required.
The ministry said that tourists are also not liable to pre-arrival quarantine. The new travel rule is based on the instructions received from the Ministry of Health.
“Before coming to the Sultanate, they will have to register for the PCR test that will take place on arrival at the Sultanate’s airports, on the emushrif.om. covid19 page, and upload the Tarassud Plus program of the Ministry of Health,” said the statement further.
The period of stay in the Sultanate should be less than two weeks.
Tourists need to stick to the place of residence and not share rooms or mingle with others until the PCR test result appears.
