As part of its commitment to enhancing the tourism sector, Oman has invested over OMR4.5 million in major infrastructure development projects in the scenic Jabal Al Akhdar region. Located in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, these projects aim to elevate Jabal Al Akhdar as a key tourist and investment hub.
The ongoing developments focus on improving the road network, constructing recreational facilities, and enhancing public services, ensuring that both locals and tourists can enjoy a modern, comfortable, and immersive experience in this mountain plateau region.

The planned developments include the completion of the Green Mountain Park project, which has reached a 25% completion rate and is expected to be a key recreational facility for tourists visiting the area. In addition to Green Mountain Park, the internal roads in Jabal Al Akhdar are being upgraded with a budget of OMR1.37 million to ensure better traffic flow within the region. Furthermore, a new project to implement internal roads worth OMR1.4 million is underway, with 10% of the work already completed. These road improvements will not only help facilitate the movement of visitors but will also improve connectivity between Jabal Al Akhdar and other parts of Oman.
A significant development in the region is the dual carriageway project at the entrance to Jabal Al Akhdar, which is nearing the completion of its consultancy phase.
