On Wednesday, the 43rd International Tourism Fair kick-started at the Belgrade fair grounds. For this year’s fair, the slogan is – ‘Between the Mountains and the Sea.’
While opening the event, Tatjana Matic, the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, explained that she was quite happy that the fair was being organized in spite of the present instability worldwide. To quote her, “Serbia will remain an attractive, modern and exciting tourist destination and domestic tourism will continue to develop.”
“The war in Ukraine will definitely be reflected in the tourism sector, but we believe the industry will survive in spite of everything as it is highly adaptable,” Matic said.
Marija Labovic, the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia Director, explained that at the fair, the domestic tourism industry was being showcased under the new Experience Serbia brand. Marija also observed that the brand was suitably named because tourism was certainly a cherished experience.
Zoran Radojicic, the Belgrade Mayor, explained that the three-day fair would showcase the diversity of the city and turn out to be a hub of events in the capital.
The visitors will be able to select the destination in a manner conforming with their affinities: family trips, travel for young people, far away destinations, which they can choose from the offer: Greece, Turkey, Montenegro, Egypt, Bulgaria, Russia, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia, and Malaysia – making its first appearance at the fair with its rich tourist offerings.
Several foreign ambassadors in Belgrade, Montenegro’s Minister for Economic Development Jakov Mijatovic, Republika Srpska Minister of Trade and Tourism Suzana Gasic and the head of the Republika Srpska Representation Office in Belgrade, Mladjen Cicovic attended the opening ceremony.
