On January 9, a one day trekking programme to David Scott Trail was organized by the office of the India Tourism, Shillong in association with Meghalaya Sport Climbing Association (MeSCMA).
D Rapsang, District Youth Coordinator, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong flagged off the programme as chief guest, in the presence of R S Paswan, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Shillong.
Rapsang praised all participants for taking keen interest in adventure activities that are beneficial for their health, both physically and mentally.
The objectives of this programme for the youth were promoting trekking and instilling a spirit of adventure and discipline, promoting cleanliness, and also promoting the conservation of natural resources. A total of 32 participants from Shillong took part, the youngest participant being a 13- year old boy.
