Visitors can now purchase tickets ahead on its website and will no longer have to queue up to enter the six-month old tourist attraction in the emirate.
The website and mobile app Dubai Frame was launched by Dawood Abdul Rahman Al Hajiri, director-general of Dubai Municipality on Wednesday at the 150m-high twin tower with a Sky Bridge.
He said that the e-tickets will facilitate the visitors to cut down on the burden of traffic congestions and fluctuations in weather conditions.It will further reduce the rush at the ticket counter and the visitors’ easier and better at the Dubai Frame.
The tickets are nominally prices for children and senior citizens while people with determination can enter for free.After its opening on January 1 so far 466,000 people have visited the Dubai Frame.
The online ticketing system is developed in cooperation with Etisalat whose online system provides the ticket price, time slots and the number of tickets available. It is built in similar lines with the online tickets for the Burj Khalifa.
But the Dubai Municipality confirmed that there will be no increase in the price for the on-the-spot tickets like it is for Burj Khalifa.
Mohammad Mubarak Al Mutaiwe’e, assistant director-general of Dubai Municipality for Communications and Community Sector stated that they have not considered any proposal to change the prices at this time.
The Dubai Frame will now consider allowing government functions at the Sky Bridge without disturbing the visitors’ trip.
The visitors were informed regarding the closure of the facility during certain time period only via the social media channels of Dubai Frame.
Khalid Sultan Hilal Al Suwaidi, director of Leisure Facilities Department mentioned that they will now be hosting special events without disrupting the normal visiting hours.
Some of the citizens appreciated the move and believed that it will be ideal for Dubai to support the tourists.
The tourists and residents were urged by the Dubai municipality to ignore and not to vsisit the unofficial sites for purchasing the tickets.
