Philippines TourismWhile demand for travel rises in the Philippines online travel agencies including Expedia and Traveloka are steadily becoming the smartest booking platform for several technology-savvy tourists.

They are quite easy-to-use and provide competitive pricing particularly for budget travellers.

They are beautifully complemented by their mobile apps and these eservice providers make booking flights or hotels possible anytime and anywhere. Philippine tourism seems promising since the volume of regional and foreign tourists grows year over year.

As per the Department of Tourism (DoT), as much as 532,757 foreigners had arrived in the nation on May 2017 alone.

On the other hand, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that three in five Filipinos aged 15 or older have travelled domestically in the year 2016. Both figures are significant improvements over the recent years. The May 2017 international visitor count is up 19.6% over May 2016. The domestic travel data of PSA marks a 20% rise over the figures of 2012.

A strong local economy and globalization might be considered important factors for the steady progress of the regional travel industry.

Furthermore the emergence of fresh technologies and payment processes are also observed to be primary growth drivers in the travel scenario. OTAs are expected to get more popular with the passage of time. In a 2016 research released by Temasek and Google, it was discovered that the sea economy is estimated to grow to more than $200 million by 2025.

Online travel hotels and slights would be accounting for about 15% of its growth.
