On April 14, 2025, the Oregon Tourism Commission (doing business as Travel Oregon) celebrated the outstanding achievements in the state’s travel and tourism industry at the 2025 Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Portland. The event, which gathered over 600 professionals, highlighted the incredible work of individuals and organizations committed to enhancing the state’s tourism sector while promoting sustainability, inclusivity, and local economic resilience.

Governor’s Award: PDX Next

The highlight of the evening was the Governor’s Award, presented to PDX Next, the $2 billion expansion project at Portland International Airport (PDX). The project is transforming the airport’s infrastructure, with a new main terminal, Concourse B, and a new parking garage designed to improve accessibility, sustainability, and traveler experience. Travel Oregon CEO Todd Davidson praised PDX Next as a model of collaboration and innovation, particularly emphasizing its use of sustainable mass timber and energy-efficient design, setting a national standard for airports.

Davidson noted, “Through these innovations, PDX Next sets the gold standard for airports nationwide. It reflects our commitment to welcoming visitors the Oregon way, with a focus on local vendors and supporting Tribal timber enterprises.”

Leadership Award: Ana DeVincentis

The Leadership Award was presented to Ana DeVincentis for her remarkable leadership in John Day Canyon City Parks and Recreation District and the broader community. DeVincentis has championed sustainable tourism, environmental stewardship, and community engagement, significantly enhancing recreational opportunities in Oregon. Her successful efforts in grant-writing and fundraising have not only boosted local tourism but also supported local businesses and the regional economy.
