Before the start of this pandemic, we were working from our respective offices, going for vacations to explore the unknowns with our family, and even embarked on solo adventure tours as well, by checking in far off destinations. This particular travelling pattern shaped many industries around it- be it a restaurant, tourist destinations, cruise packages, casinos, and even the handloom sector of the local region. Currently, all of this is experiencing an unprecedented despair as COVID-19 becomes the main concern worldwide.
When the first human walked the earth, the basic need that he wanted to was to travel around the world at the same time get acquainted to new things in terms of food and shelter. In the current scenario, the world as we know has been the result of thousands of years of journeying, whether it’s for gold, oil, and minerals that built the industries, or unexplored islands across the sea to discover the mystery. This activity of exploration has paved the way to unprecedented development world over. This accompanied with technology advancement, be it in Aviation and Photography, along with the social media burst, has caused more people to be get connected and create concept of the Global Village.
Previously, the young minds and the restive souls dreamt of having a house and a car. At that time, travel was more of a leisure activity. The millennials found a different way of spending money and that was travelling with gradual changing times. They believe in living light, saving money and travelling worldwide. This prompted tourism to offer attractive deals, packages and discounts to draw them since the average disposable income among millennials is far less than a middle-aged person. The entire concept of social media “influencers” got immensely popular, and people started unraveling far-flung by clicking right on their smartphones. Twitter played a crucial role with people reaching out directly to Hotel management and reviewing them about their good and bad experiences.
