The state government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered to constitute an official panel to screen and identify new tourism projects under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP).
Speaking to reporters in Jammu yesterday, an official spokesperson said the State Administrative Council (SAC), under the chairmanship of Governor Satya Pal Malik, has ordered the constitution of the committee.
The committee has to complete the screening and identification of projects by the end of this month.
Under the PMDP, Jammu and Kashmir has received Rs 2,000 crore for the development of new tourist circuits and infrastructure over the next of five years.
