Passenger traffic at Pulkovo Airport increased by 10.3% in first six months of 2019

Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 8,767,773 passengers, in January-June 2019, recording a 10.3 per cent rise than in the same period of 2018. In the same period, Pulkovo Airport in Russia handled 80,310 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 4.7 per cent year-on-year.

 

 

The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 13 per cent to 5,540,592 passengers. International traffic increased to 3,227,181 passengers – up by 5.9 per cent.

 

 

 

 

During the first half of 2019, the top domestic destinations at Pulkovo Airport in terms of passenger traffic are Moscow, Sochi, Simferopol, Kaliningrad, and Novosibirsk. During the same period, the top international destinations at Pulkovo Airport in terms of passenger traffic were Antalya, Frankfurt am Main, Paris, Munich and Larnaca.

 

 

 

In January-June 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7 Airlines, and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 5,433,800 passengers at St. Petersburg airport which was a  62 per cent of the total traffic for that period.

 

 

 

Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Finnair, and airBaltic became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the first half of 2019. In total, they handled 634,937 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.2 per cent of the airport traffic in January-June 2019.

 

 

In June 2019, 1,988,483 passengers travelled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport -3.8 per cent higher than the same month of 2018.
