The major tourism body of the Gold Coast is searching for a new CEO, as Patricia O’Callaghan all prepared to take up the top job at Tourism and Events Queensland.
In 2020, Ms O’Callaghan was appointed as Destination Gold Coast CEO and the term will come to an end up on the glitter strip at the end of 2022 to take on her new position.
It means one of the most profitable and sought-after tourism jobs of the city in the Gold Coast is now available with over 600 people hoped to apply for the same.
Soon, Destination Gold Coast will set up a countrywide search for a fitting substitute, with the board admitting the new CEO will have major responsibilities to fill.
Adrienne Readings, Destination Gold Coast Chair, said that all through it, Trish has made certain that everyone knows that in world there is no better travel destination than the Gold Coast.
Destination Gold Coast would like to admit the excellent contribution of Trish to the tourism of Gold Coast tourism and her service for the last two years.
Readings said that the Board and she wish Trish good luck for her new role and they know she will continue to work even harder on behalf of the Gold Coast and wider Queensland tourism economy.
On November 2020, Ms O’Callaghan was selected for the role at Destination Gold Coast after going through a competitive selection process.
