The beautiful resort city of Pattaya has been observing a generous boost in its occupancy rates thanks to an international fleet show.
Sanpet Supabowornsathien who is the president of the Eastern Thai Hotels Association mentioned on Tuesday that the reservation rate of hotels in Pattaya has surpassed 90% on account of visitors to the International Fleet Review 2017.
He added that this event bolstered tourism in the city during the high season.
This tourism event actually commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This 10-member grouping was established in the year 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines.
The event was hosted by Royal Thai Navy and Pattaya City that commenced on Monday throughout 22nd November.
The highlight would be on Monday when the review of the international travel fleet takes place. It features 15 ships from the Royal Thai Navy, 28 ships from the 18 ASEAN and non-ASEAN countries and also 20 aircrafts from both the Royal Thai Navy and the Royal Thai Air Force.
Pattaya is also optimistic that its fountain would be launched prior to the end of the naval exhibition. City Mayor Pol Maj Gen Anan Charoenchasri mentioned that the test run of the colorful fountain at Bali Hai Cape had already been conducted but the launch date is yet to be scheduled.
