Perth hosting Australian Rowing Championships

Perth is gearing up to greet thousands of visitors and participantsnext week, when it hosts Australia’sleading rowing experience.


The Australian Rowing Championships would happen from 27 March to 2 April at the Champion Lakes Regatta Center, which is among only two tailor-made water sport centers of its kind in Australia.


The week-long event is backed by the McGowan Government, with the help of Tourism WA, and it comprises the Australian Open Rowing Championships, King’s Cup Interstate Regatta and the Australian Open Schools Rowing Championships along with the Queen’s Cup Interstate Regatta.


The event will lift the status of the State considerably in the rowing community and also attract thousands of visitors to Western Australia, comprisingaround 1,500 interstate participants.


The Australian Rowing Championships is the biggest rowing occurrence in Australia. The event is happeningfor the first time in Perth in 11 years.


Between 1975 and 2012, the Championships have been held in WA five times – at the Canning River, Wellington Dam, and in recent times at Champion Lakes.
