PH – Türkiye air contract to enhance tourism

On Tuesday, the Department of Tourism greeted a recently signed air services contract that between the Philippines and Türkiye would double their passenger flights.

Christina Garcia Frasco, Tourism Secretary, said that the contract would place the Philippines as a perfect destination further for all foreign travellers, improving the arrival number, mainly during the summers.

Under the administration of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Frasco, the President, said that the DOT has recognized the development of connectivity as one of its main purposes to fortify the tourism.

She said in a recent statement that they recognize and praise the initiations of their counterparts from transportation headed by the Department of Transportation for assisting them in improving their partnerships related to air services that would give their future visitors better tourist experience that they deserve.

Frasco said that the Turkish Airlines has been a longtime partner of Manila in servicing Mediterranean and European source markets into the country.

Roberto Lim, the Transportation Undersecretary, and Turkish Civil Aviation Acting Director General, Dr. Kemal Yüksek, signed a memorandum of understanding earlier that makes the bilateral air services rule between the Philippines and Turkiye better after air conference between the Turkish Air Panels and Philippine in March 2023.
