Philippine Airlines (PAL) is strengthening its Cebu network by launching a new Cebu-Catarman route and increasing flight frequency between Cebu and Siargao, solidifying its position as a key player in regional connectivity.
Starting March 1, PAL will introduce a thrice-weekly service connecting Cebu to Catarman City, the vibrant capital of Northern Samar and a prominent hub for commerce and education in Eastern Visayas.
On the same day, PAL will boost its Cebu-Siargao route by adding midmorning flights on Wednesdays and Sundays. This expansion will bring the total number of weekly flights between Cebu and Siargao Island, famed for its world-class surfing spots, stunning beaches, and hidden lagoons, to 18.
“Philippine Airlines is happy to upgrade services to Catarman through this new link from Cebu. Samar residents and travelers will now have better access to Cebu, and the new route will also give Cebuanos more options to visit Northern Samar,” said PAL Express President Mr. Rabbi Ang. “The new Cebu hub services to Catarman and Siargao are part of our continuing commitment to enhance inter-island connectivity, boosting tourism and stimulating business.”
“We are glad to partner with the Northern Samar government authorities and the local community in helping build up air travel to support the success of this new route to Catarman,” he added.
The Cebu-Catarman flights will be operated using the 86-seater De Havilland Dash 8 Series 400 Next Generation aircraft, offering travelers the benefits of near-jet speed and superior comfort.
Passengers from Catarman City will gain seamless access to PAL’s extensive Cebu hub, with connections to popular destinations such as Caticlan (Boracay), Clark, Busuanga (Coron), Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Siargao. PAL also offers four weekly flights between Catarman and Manila.
To celebrate the new Cebu-Catarman-Cebu service, PAL is introducing a special promotional base fare starting at just PHP 698, available for booking until January 31 for travel beginning March 1.
Additionally, PAL serves Siargao with two daily flights from Manila and three weekly flights from Clark, ensuring accessibility to one of the Philippines’ premier travel destinations.
With these enhancements, PAL continues to make travel more convenient and accessible, fostering tourism and economic growth across the regions.
