Porter Airlines has broadened its Florida services from Eastern Canada by inaugurating flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) today.
Travelers on these new routes can anticipate Porter’s enhanced economy experience, featuring complimentary inflight WiFi for seamless connectivity throughout the journey. Complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks are standard for all passengers. PorterReserve fares, inclusive of priority check-in, extra legroom seats, premium pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh, healthy meals, are available à la carte to PorterClassic passengers.
Both routes commence with daily roundtrip flights using the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, configured in a two-by-two layout without middle seats on any Porter flight.
For the first time, passengers can enjoy Porter’s distinctive style, care, and charm on the entire journey from Fort Lauderdale to Western Canada destinations like Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, connecting via Toronto Pearson and Ottawa International.
“Florida is a sought-after destination for Canadians, and Fort Lauderdale marks the fourth market in the state that Porter has introduced this fall,” stated Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President, and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines. “We’re thrilled that passengers now have the option to travel in style with Porter’s unique elevated economy experience to more destinations than ever before.”
“As the busy year-end holiday travel season approaches, it’s an opportune time to welcome Porter Airlines to our growing roster of air carriers,” commented Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation at FLL. “With Canada already being the No. 1 international market for FLL, Porter’s flights to Toronto and Ottawa will strengthen existing ties between our regions and provide new travel opportunities for mutually beneficial tourism and business activities.”
“Ottawa-Gatineau has a significant snowbird population that prefers south Florida for winter stays and getaways, making Fort Lauderdale their airport of choice,” mentioned Mark Laroche, President and CEO of Ottawa International Airport. “More options for our passengers are always welcome, as is Porter’s continued confidence in YOW as it expands its network.”
“Last winter, Fort Lauderdale was the most in-demand US route from Pearson,” noted Khalil Lamrabet, Chief Commercial Officer of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “We are excited to see Porter’s continued commitment to expanding its network at YYZ. Their growth is undoubtedly helping to satisfy demand while providing more choice for passengers.”
