Portugal has been voted the leading destination in Europe by the World Travel Awards

Once again Portugal has been voted the leading destination in Europe, four years at a stretch, by the World Travel Awards. All in all, Portugal grabbed 27 European awards, including Madeira named the Leading Island Destination of Europe, Algarve named the Leading beach Destination of Europe and the Azores named the Leading Adventure Tourism Destination of Europe.

Lisbon was named Europe’s Leading Cruise Destination, Porto Europe’s Leading City Break Destination and Turismo de Lisboa grabbed the award for Europe’s Leading City Tourism Board.

In all, Portugal received 27 awards:
