Princess Cruises announces the return to Japan for the newly released 2024 cruise season currently on sale.

Japan has been a popular homeport and destination experience for Princess guests for many years and we’re thrilled to offer such a culturally-rich season of cruises in this region for the 2024 season, said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises.

Additionally, the Royal Princess will make its debut in 2024 marking the first Royal-Class ship to sail in the region.

The sailings on offer provide many opportunities to enjoy the spring flowers and summer festivals.

The Royal Princess will sail a new Japan and North Pacific Crossing itinerary, with calls in the northern Tohoku and Hokkaido regions during the cherry blossom season.

In addition, guests can combine this with the cruise line’s Voyage of the Glaciers sailing to witness the glaciers of Alaska.

Travellers can choose to disembark in Anchorage (Whittier) for a 15-day voyage or continue to Vancouver, B.C. for a 22-day cruise.

The sailing will depart from Tokyo (Yokohama) on April 27, 2024.

The Diamond Princess will return to Japan for the 2024 season, offering roundtrips from Tokyo (Yokohama) from March through August, with calls to 35 destinations in three countries.

The cruises will range from seven to 23 days.

The Diamond Princess will begin the season with a series of four ten-day Spring Flowers sailings, with calls to all four of Japan’s main islands.

Guests aboard the Diamond Princess will have the opportunity to experience a number of festivals in each port including:

Aomori Nebuta Festival (Aug 2 and Aug 7)

Kochi Yosakoi Dance Festival (Aug 12)

Tokushima Awa Odori Dance Festival (Aug 13)

Kumano Fireworks Festival (Aug 17)

Additionally, the Diamond Princess will sail on nine-day Southern Islands voyages that call to two Okinawan ports and two Taiwan ports; the Sea of Japan sailings calling to ports along the Kitamaebune trading route; the ten-day Hokkaido cruises with visits to Otaru (for Sapporo), Hakodate and Kushiro; and the popular ten-day Japan Explorer voyages.

Princess Cruises’ 2024 Japan program also includes access to nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Mount Fuji, Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, Buddhist Monuments in the Horyu-ji Area, Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, and the Iriomote Island and Jomon Prehistoric Sites.
