Pursuit collection recently announced that it has decided to gradually reopen its lodging, culinary and retail experiences within its Glacier Park Collection starting from June 1. The reopening comes after the company temporarily suspended its operations during the month of March. It will take place in accordance with the state and provincial government’s approach to resuming similar services.
As the number of coronavirus cases continued to rise across the globe and travel restrictions, as well as social distancing measures, were introduced, the company delayed its seasonal openings in order to support the public health and safety measures related to COVID-19. The reopening process would include rigorous cleaning, physical distancing, and training protocols and follow the Safety Promise program as outlined by Pursuit.
The new operational protocols will also consist of measures like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved stringent cleaning and hygiene protocols, reduction of guest capacity across all Pursuit attractions and culinary experiences, and thermal or temperature screening of all staff before shifts. Integration of express check-outs as well as the implementation of plexiglass barriers where possible will also be adapted as a part of physical and social distancing.
Gary Rodgers, Vice-President and General Manager, Glacier Park Collection by Pursuit said in a statement that the company has the to experience Glacier and Waterton Lakes national parks in a more intimate and less crowded way this summer. He mentioned that the company is uniquely positioned to provide an opportunity for friends and family to spend quality time to reconnect after the tough times are over. He shared that the collection is capable of reigniting the family road trip and RV experiences by arranging great historic lodges at Montana and Alberta.
He mentioned that the company wants to provide guests with an increased level of assurance that they can be confident about their utmost safety and security when they are ready to visit once again. West Glacier RV Park would be the first property to open on June 1 followed by the West Glacier Cabin Village on June 5. The iconic lodges of the collection built by the Great Northern Railroad including the Glacier Park Lodge and Belton Chalet will reopen on June 24 and 26 respectively.
