Qatar Airways has launched a new augmented reality (AR) experience that enables customers to play football in an innovative way: they have to blink to score. This immersive function enables the player to have virtual experiences on social media. By connecting the real and virtual worlds, fans can now interact with the Qatar Airways brand in a playful way.
The award-winning airline has set a precedent: it is the first airline in the region to use the newly introduced Facebook AR ad format, so users can play the AR game directly from the Facebook news feed without having to install any additional applications.
Qatar Airways has launched a creative campaign in which football legend Xavi immerses itself in the AR game, offering millions of football fans around the world an unprecedented experience on the Facebook app. This initiative is directly related to the airline’s mission to bring people together.
